Chickahominy Reservoir, Oregon

The Chickahominy Recreation Area is a perfect stop in East Oregon to stay a day or a week. We were there twice this year - on our way to Washington and the Oregon Coast and then again on our way back east. The closest town nearby is Burns approximately 20 miles east and the Glass Buttes area lies just a few miles west. Lots of volcanic glass (Obsidian) to see and collect there. And I spotted also a few boondocking sites, surrounded by piles of obsidian. However, since we are traveling with Vicky our kitty, it wasn’t an option to stay since there are also lots of smaller shards everywhere.
