Joshua Tree National Park (Part 1)
Friday, 21. April 2023
During our slow journey north, we made a stop at Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, which is known for its unique and stunning desert landscape. The park covers over 790,000 acres and is home to several distinct ecosystems, including the Mojave and Colorado Deserts.
We spent the first five days in the southern part of the park, which is where most of the photos below were taken. As the temperatures continued to rise, we were delighted to spot chuckwallas basking on almost every other rock, some of them already engaged in their mating season rituals. We also had the pleasure of seeing a turtle during our stay.
